The dynamic Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival: A splashy affair!

This August long weekend marks the tenth season of the Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival directed by internationally acclaimed concert pianist and professor at Brandon University, Alexander Tselyakov. This year’s festival is comprised of seven concerts: piano recital, four chamber concerts and two jazz events. Performances run from July 30st – August 3rd and feature a wide variety of musical styles and artists.

The Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival has become an important part of Canada’s cultural calendar, delighting people of all ages with a powerful musical experience. This year’s ambitious schedule is sure to please, and promises to grow the number of classical music lovers, as well as satisfy the appetites of seasoned enthusiasts. The large scale roster of talented guest artists include: Alexander Tselyakov, Alla Turbanova, Daniel Tselyakov, piano; Marc Djokic, violin; Laszlo Baroczi, viola; Simon Fryer, cello; Crystal Tait, double bass; Ken MacDonald, horn; Colin Mehmel, clarinet; Greg Gatien, saxophone; Eric Platz, percussion; and special guest Dr. Gervan Fearon (President Brandon University) on saxophone.

The wide variety in programming is sure to keep audience members engaged, and the exceptional musical talent guarantees an exciting and pleasurable experience for all.

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF CHAMBER MUSIC, the 2015 Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival will bring music to three Manitoba communities: the Erickson Lutheran Church, Lorne Watson Recital Hall in Brandon – Daniel Tselyakov in Recital/the Opening Night with wine & cheese reception (July 30), and “The Martese” at the Marina in Clear Lake.

Concerts begin Thursday, July 30 at 7:30 pm and continue until the afternoon of Monday, August 3, 3:00 p.m.

Festival Grand Finale!
Don’t miss the grand finale, featuring one of the greatest violin-piano sonata ever written by César Franck, performed by Daniel Tselyakov and Marc Djokic. The world première of Brandon composer T. Patrick Carrabré’s ” Clear Lake at Dusk”, commissioned quartet for the 10th anniversary of the Clear Lake Chamber Music Festival 2015 and dedicated to Alexander Tselyakov. Hummel’s wonderfully fresh and minutely sensitive Piano Quintet Op. 87.
